Devita Saraf, the gorgeous founder of VU Tv received yet another feather in her cap buy bagging the prestigious Business Woman of the year 2016 at the the much awaited 7th Annual India Leadership Conclave & Indian Affairs Business Leadership Awards 2016 hosted in mumbai on Friday,1st July at Hotel Hilton mumbai, international Airport. The Conclave, widely perceived by the industry leaders as premier leadership meeting point was in full attendance by more than 350leaders of the country.
Devita Saraf was born in Mumbai, India. Daughter of Rajkumar Saraf, Chairman of Zenith Computers, Devita has always been curious to explore the world on her own. After studying Management of Technology at the University of California, Berkeley, she completed her Business degree from the University of Southern California followed by another course at London School of Economics and University of CaliforniaBerkeley. She conducted IT classes during her management days for extra earning. Currently she is pursuing her OPM At the Harvard Business School. Devita was recently appointed on the Advisory Board of the Viterbi School of Engineering, USC. She was a speaker at the Wharton-India Economic Forum at the University of Pennsylvania.
At age 24, she started Vu Technologies – the premier brand of luxury televisions. Vu came out with many ‘firsts’: a waterproof television, digital photoframe and most recently Play and Iconium Series. Today the business stands worth Rs.200 Crore in the area of LED Televisions, Ultra HD TVs, Super TVs, Corporate Displays, and Video walls, Digital Signage and Touchscreen/Interactive Displays. Vu has stores across India in the leading malls, with Display Experience Centers in 20 cities nationwide and an online sales platform on www.vutvs.com As the Design Head, Devita has implemented display projects for companies in Hospitality [Oberoi, Taj, Hyatt, Marriott, Ritz Carlton], Banking [Standard Chartered, Citibank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, HSBC], Automotive [Jaguar, Audi, Tata Motors, Toyota], Corporate [Microsoft, IBM, Tata Group, Aditya Birla Group, Godrej], Retail [HaagenDazs, Shoppers Stop, Vero Moda] and the Government [Indian Navy, Maharashtra Police, Doordarshan]. Devita Saraf is an iconoclast, a non-conformist and an individual spirit. Luxury for her is an indulgence of senses and she thoroughly enjoys all forms of performing arts including dance, theatre and music. She is a trained Odissi dancer. She has also earned a 3rd term teacher’s diploma in Ikebana from the Ohara School, Japan, and learnt Jewellery Design from the Indo American Institute to design fine jewellery of her own. Devita is a member of the international hi-IQ society Mensa and Founder Chairperson of the Young Bombay Forum, Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
